Mr. David Habeck
Principal and 8th Grade
Mr. Habeck was born in Kewaunee, Wisconsin where he attended Immanuel Lutheran School. He attended Manitowoc Lutheran High School and graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in January, 1974.
His first Call was to Zum Kripplein Kristi where he served as the one-roomed school teacher for four years. In January of 1978, he took a Call to Emmaus, Phoenix, Arizona to be their principal and upper grade teacher. In July of 1988, Mr. Habeck took a Call to serve as teacher and coach at Arizona Lutheran Academy. In July of 1993, Mr. Habeck moved to the Pacific Northwest to serve as athletic director, coach, and teacher for Evergreen Lutheran High School. He served at ELHS for seventeen years before accepting a Call to be principal and teacher of Trinity Lutheran School in Caledonia. Mr. Habeck is married to his dear wife of 40+ years. Dave and Gretchen are blessed to have six children and 10 grandchildren. Outside of office and classroom time, Mr. Habeck enjoys spending his time with his children and grandchildren. He is also a state of Wisconsin sport fan, cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and the Badgers of UW.
Mr. Habeck's favorite Bible verse can be found on the footer of each email he sends: Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men."
Mr. Joel Schultz
Mr. Schultz was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin and attended Mount Calvary Lutheran School. After attending Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, Mr. Schultz continued his education at Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1995.
Upon graduation, Mr. Schultz was assigned to teach fifth and sixth grade at King of Kings’ Lutheran School in Maitland, Florida where he served for five years. In 2000 he accepted a call to teach at St. John’s Lutheran School in Libertyville, Illinois. The Lord led Mr. Schultz to accept the call the Trinity in 2009 where he continues to teach to this day.
In addition to teaching seventh grade, Mr. Schultz serves as the boys’ athletic director and coaches boys’ soccer, boys’ basketball, and track.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Schultz enjoys spending time with his wife Jenni and their six children. Hunting, woodworking, and fixing things are among his favorite hobbies.
Mr. Schultz’s favorite Bible passage is Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work (faith) in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Miss Martha Lau
Miss Lau was born in LaCrosse, WI. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran School in Onalaska, WI and from there, Luther High School, also in Onalaska. Following in her grandfather, uncle and father's footsteps, she attended Martin Luther College and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2006. Upon graduation, she was blessed with the assignment to serve at Trinity Lutheran in Caledonia where she is currently serving. She has been accepted in the Master's program at Wisconsin Lutheran College and looks forward to the challenge ahead.
In addition to teaching 6th grade, Miss Lau enjoys teaching 8th grade American history. She is involved in technology as well as serving as the girls' athletic director, and coaching various sports throughout the year.
Outside of the classroom, Miss Lau enjoys spending time with her family - namely, her twelve nieces and nephews and a great-nephew. Finding time to golf and sitting by the pool are among her favorite hobbies. Cheering for the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers are also on her list of favorites. Miss Lau's favorite verse sits on her desk as a daily reminder to use God's word every day in every way: "Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." -Ephesians 6:13
Mr. Micheal Martens
Mr. Martens teaches 5th grade at Trinity Lutheran School. He was born in New Ulm, Minnesota where he grew up on a farm and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School. He attended high school at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in New Ulm and then went to Martin Luther College. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from MLC and was assigned to teach at Trinity Lutheran in May 2017.
Mr. Martens was married to his wife Esther in August of 2015. They have a daughter, Paityn, who was born in January 2017. In his free time, Mr. Martens enjoys watching and playing all kinds of sports and being outdoors. He also enjoys singing, playing his cello, and spending time with his family.
Mrs. Nicole Mielke
Mrs. Nicole Mielke attended grade school at Faith Lutheran in Antioch, IL. She then graduated from Shoreland Lutheran High School and also Wisconsin Lutheran College. While her path to teaching was not a straight one, the Lord led her to where He had planned. She returned to Shoreland to teach first year Spanish and freshman English for eight years.
Upon becoming a parent through the gift of adoption, she took some time away from teaching. She returned part-time to begin a 5-8 Spanish program at St. John's in Burlington, WI. After transferring to Trinity, she was asked to again teach Spanish to grades 5-8. She and Mr. Mielke are thankful for the many blessings of a school like Trinity where God's Word is taught and shared with each student, in each class. She cherished her confirmation verse of John 8:12,
“You are the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Mrs. Cindy Grow
Mrs. Grow was born in New London, WI. She attended Emanuel Lutheran School in New London, WI and Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, WI. She graduated from Martin Luther College with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2001.
Mrs. Grow served at First Lutheran, Lake Geneva, WI from 2001-2003. From 2003-2005, she served at First Lutheran, Elkhorn, WI. During those four years, Mrs. Grow taught various grade levels (6-8, 3-5, Kindergarten, and 5-6). She also coached volleyball and taught Spanish. From 2005-2014, Mrs. Grow took a break from full-time teaching to raise her children. During that time she taught part-time (Spanish and piano lessons) at First Lutheran, Elkhorn, WI. In 2014, the Grow family moved to the Racine area when her husband accepted a call to Shoreland Lutheran High School. Mrs. Grow now serves as the 4th grade teacher at Trinity.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Grow loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. She loves the Packers and enjoys going to any games she can. She enjoys the outdoors and likes to play tennis when she has the chance.
Mrs. Grow’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” What a great reminder that we need not worry because our almighty, loving God has everything under control. Mrs. Grow feels blessed that she has the opportunity to share God’s Word with her students each day.
Miss Kimberly Ehlke
Miss Ehlke was born in Beloit, WI and attended kindergarten at Good Shepherd Lutheran School. She moved to Watertown, WI and went to Trinity-St. Luke’s Lutheran School for her remaining grade school years. She graduated high school in 1996 from Luther Prep and continued on to Martin Luther College, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in education in 2000.
From Martin Luther College, she was assigned to teach K at Abiding Word in Houston, TX. She only taught K for one year before moving to 3rd and 4th grade. Miss Ehlke was in Houston for five years and then took a call to St. Lucas in Bayview, WI, where she taught different combinations of grades 2-4. After four years at St. Lucas, Miss Ehlke took a call again to Trinity Lutheran School in Caledonia, where she is currently teaching. Again, she has had a variation for grades 2-4.
In addition to teaching 3rd grade, Miss Ehlke also works with the school’s music to various degrees, teaches tone chimes to the upper grades, and directs the Junior Choir. She also enjoys coaching volleyball in the fall and contributing to other activities around school.
Outside of school, Miss Ehlke enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys various outdoor activities, but certainly doesn’t mind relaxing with a movie. She likes to vacation and travel when she can, especially to the lake and beach.

Mrs. Jamie Lindemann
Mrs. Lindemann was born in Beloit, Wisconsin. As a child, she attended Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Beloit and then Peace Lutheran School in Bradenton, Florida. Following her family’s move back to Wisconsin, she attended and graduated from Shoreland Lutheran High School. In 1999, she graduated from Martin Luther College with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
She was assigned to St. Peter Lutheran School in Schofield, Wisconsin where she taught 2nd and 3rd grade for two years. Before beginning teaching 2nd grade here at Trinity Lutheran in Caledonia in 2012, Mrs. Lindemann took some time away from the classroom to be at home with her four children. She is excited to be teaching again and especially enjoys second grade.
Mrs. Lindemann and her husband, Paul, have three sons and one daughter. They live in rural Yorkville and enjoy spending time outdoors, watching their children’s sporting events, and getting together with friends and family.
Mrs. Lindemann treasures the moments to share the joy of Jesus with her students each day and feels blessed to be a part of the Trinity family. Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Mrs. Beth Gumm
Mrs. Gumm was born in Klamath Falls, OR but spent most of her childhood living in Green Bay, WI. She attended First Lutheran School in Green Bay, WI and then Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, WI. She attended Martin Luther College and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and an emphasis in Spanish in 2004. At graduation, Mrs. Gumm was assigned to teach upper-level Spanish and coach at Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers, WI. Mrs. Gumm spent eight years teaching and coaching at Shoreland before taking two years to stay home with her daughters. In 2014 Mrs. Gumm accepted the Call to teach first grade at Trinity Lutheran, Caledonia, and is thrilled to be back in Early Childhood Education which she is so passionate about! Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Gumm enjoys spending time with her family – her husband, Josh, and her two energetic daughters, Kathryn and Claire. Spending time outdoors and travelling are her favorite hobbies.
Mrs. Gumm’s favorite passage is 2 Corinthians 5:14, 15 “Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” It is great motivator to serve other is love. How blessed we are that He should love us so.
Mrs. Karen Dyke
Mrs. Dyke was born in Caledonia, WI. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Caledonia, WI and from there, Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers. She attended Martin Luther College and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1986. Upon graduation, she was blessed with the assignment to serve at Ocean Drive Lutheran School in Pompano Beach, Florida teaching grades 3-5 for two years and 1-4 for one year. Mrs. Dyke was married in Florida in 1989 and she moved to Greensboro, NC with her husband, Ed Dyke. Together with 3 additional families they started a WELS mission church in North Carolina.
Mr. and Mrs. Dyke moved back home to Caledonia, Wisconsin in 1998 so their children could attend Trinity Lutheran School. Mrs. Dyke was called by Trinity in 1999 to teach preschool. She taught preschool for 2 years, preschool and kindergarten for 7 years, and 5-full day kindergarten from 2008 to present.
Mr. and Mrs. Dyke have two children. Both Dan and Amy attended Trinity Lutheran, Shoreland Lutheran, and currently the University of Wisconsin of Parkside. Dan is a senior studying Physical Therapy and Amy is a freshman studying Elementary Education.
In addition to teaching Kindergarten, Mrs. Dyke enjoys organizing the Volunteer Program. She schedules parents to come in and help supervise recess duty and distributes monthly calendars.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Dyke enjoys spending time with her family, walking, working in the yard, and puzzles.
Mrs. Dyke's favorite verse is "Serve one another in love."
Mrs. Joanne Beischel
Church Secretary and Kindergarten Aid
Joanne Beischel was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin attending Wind Point Elementary School, Jerstad Agerholm Jr. High School, and William Horlick High School. Joanne graduated from UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Welfare - Economics Emphasis. Her student teaching experience was in the San Diego public schools. After a career in business, Joanne stayed home to raise her two small children. From 1999-2008 and 2010-present she has been at Trinity Lutheran School in numerous roles including preschool teaching assistant, tutor, Kindergarten teaching assistant, recorder teacher and church secretary.
Joanne enjoys music - especially playing the flute and singing. She also bowls on leagues and attempts the sport of golf. Joanne especially enjoys her time with her family including her husband, adult son and daughter, and German Shepherd Dog. She spends a lot of time attending various sporting events, especially the ones in which her family is participating. She is also an avid reader.
Joanne considers herself to be truly blessed with this opportunity to serve her Lord and others at Trinity. "And he will raise you up on eagles' wings, Bear you on the breath of dawn, Make you to shine like the sun, And hold you in the palm of his hand." (Christian Worship Hymn #440)
Mrs. Proeber was born in Milwaukee, WI. She attended St. John's Lutheran School in Milwaukee and Wisconsin Lutheran High School. She has been married to Bud Proeber since 1981. Their four children all attended Trinity and Shoreland LHS. They enjoy spending time with their two granddaughters.
Mrs. Proeber has served as Trinity's School Secretary since 1994. She enjoys working with the students and parents to advance the ministry of Trinity Lutheran School.

Mrs. Patty Koestler
Mrs. Koestler was born in Mankato, MN. She attended Monroe Elementary School and Mankato West High School. After graduating from high school, she attended Martin Luther College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She has taught in MN and WI at the preschool through 4th grade levels and is currently a teacher and director at Trinity Lutheran Preschool- Caledonia.
Mrs. Koestler and her husband, Mike, have been blessed with four children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, and working on home projects.
Inspired by her husband’s zeal for the ministry of Christian education, Mrs. Koestler loves to ponder the greatness of God’s power and love with these verses: “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations….” Ephesians 3:20,21.
Mrs. Laurie Bunkelman
Mrs. Bunkelman was born in West Bend, WI. She attended St. Lucas Lutheran School in Kewaskum, WI and Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac, WI. She spent years in banking before marriage brought her to the Caledonia area. She feels blessed and couldn’t be happier to be helping in Trinity’s preschool classroom.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Bunkelman enjoys staying active, coaching and playing volleyball, working with an autistic teenager, and helping out with various needs around Trinity. But most of all, she cherishes time with her husband and three children.
A favorite hymn that pulls her heart strings is #566 We All Are One in Mission. “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.” –Romans 12:6 She knows and believes all of our various talents can be used for His good.
Mrs. Julie Strassburg
Mrs. Strassburg was born in Hartford, Wisconsin. She grew up in Jackson, Wisconsin and attended David’s Star Lutheran Grade School and Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, where she had both of her parents as teachers. She graduated from Martin Luther College, in 2002, with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
After graduating from Martin Luther College along with her husband, Mrs. Strassburg’s husband, Jeremy, was assigned to teach at Arizona Lutheran Academy in Phoenix, Arizona. During their time there, Mrs. Strassburg taught piano lessons and substitute taught at both the high school and grade school levels and also served as Instrumental Music Coordinator at her church. She went back to school and received her Speech Language Pathology Assistant Certification through Estrella Mountain Community College in 2009. She followed that up with two years of classes in Speech and Communication Science through Idaho State University. Mrs. Strassburg worked for 5 years, in the public schools, as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant, administering Speech Therapy to both general education and special education classrooms. After living in Phoenix for 14 years, Mr. Strassburg accepted a call to Shoreland Lutheran High School and their family moved to Sturtevant in the summer of 2016. Before working at Trinity, Mrs. Strassburg was a Behavior Therapy Technician for children with special needs, in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
Outside of school, Mrs. Strassburg enjoys playing and watching sports, especially the Packers, Badgers, Huskers (she’s a Nebraska Husker fan by marriage!) and the Bucks, with her husband and three children. She enjoys crafting of all kinds, organizing music for church, riding her bike and spending time with family and friends, especially each summer when her brother and sisters and their families come home for their annual vacation up north!
Mrs. Strassburg’s favorite Bible passage is Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” She feels blessed to be able to share Jesus with the children at Trinity every day.
